Important information about Lumigan Eye Drops

When using Lumigan® you should take care to not touch the brush to any surface, or to your eye, in order to avoid contaminating the eye drops. - Lumigan® eye drops contain the preservative benzalkonium chloride, which can be absorbed by contact lenses and cause eye irritation. If you wear contact lenses, you should remove them before applying. - These eye drops may cause your vision to blur temporarily after you have put them in your eye. Do not drive or operate machinery until this has worn off. – In 1% or less of patients this medicine can cause eye color to gradually change, by increasing the amount of brown pigment in the iris. This is not associated with any symptoms and is not harmful. It predominately happens in people with green-brown, yellow-brown or blue/grey-brown eyes. This change in color could be permanent. – Rarely eyelid skin could darken, this change is usually temporary if it occurs.

Use with caution in: Decreased kidney function - Moderate to severely decreased liver function - Some forms of glaucoma - Inflammatory conditions of the eye, eg conjunctivitis - People with no lens or an artificial lens in the eye -Some eye conditions and diseases (consult with your ophthalmologist if you are not sure if you have an eye condition) - Dry eyes - Disease affecting the airways or lungs (respiratory disease), eg asthma.
