Crystal Microdermabrasion

Crystal Microdermabrasion  (sometimes referred to as the “California Peel”, or “power peel”) is an innovative cosmetic procedure utilizing sterile aluminum oxide crystals to gently and safely smooth skin irregularities and lighten discolorations with no down time!

These crystals are applied using a microdermabrasion machine which sprays a jet of sterile microcrystals across the skin.  The dead skin cells and microcrystals are removed utilizing vacuum suction.  Treatment is usually described as painless, itchy or scratchy.   Any skin type, dark or light, tough or sensitive, can be treated.

Crystal Microdermabrasion can be used to treat:

Skin discolorations

Fine wrinkles

Sun damage

Brown (liver) spots and freckles

Acne scars and blemishes

(not all patients with these conditions will respond to treatment)

Areas that can be treated include:

Face, neck, décolleté’, chest, hands, arms or other areas

It is completely noninvasive.  There is no peeling, sloughing or bleeding.  The skin is left looking only slightly red, like a wind-burn for 1-2 days.  There is zero recovery time!  You can work and socialize normally immediately after treatment.  No preparation or aftercare is needed and makeup and moisturizers can be used immediately.  

Because microdermabrasion is gentle and gradual, multiple treatments are needed to achieve the desired results.  We recommend a series of 6-12 treatments per area.  More may be necessary for some conditions.  Results are cumulative and should be spaced 1 week apart if possible.
